In the winter of 2011-2012 I studied with artist Nathaniel Hesse based out of Santa Fe, New Mexico. For five weeks I stayed with him, his wife, their two horses and one beautiful great dane on their sculpture ranch that sits on a ridge giving a clear view of the sourounding prarie and mountain ranges. Ironically, sourounded by many large outside sculptures, the work I was creating was much smaller in scale. These are the three pieces I produced durring my stay. I think of these works as toys because of their scale, functionality, and playful colors.
