SILVECTUS is portmanteau of the Latin words: “silva” and “provectus”. Silva means: “woods and/or forest”; while provectus means: “advanced, advanced in age”. 

As a character, I want Silvectus to be frightening, mysterious, and somewhat deity-esque. I want the character to be a mix of the past and the future. By doing so, I incorporated design elements from nature such as branches and insects, in particular, the Horned Beetle. 

I also drew inspirations from H.R. Gigers’  imagery of the popular Xenomorphs. The Xenomorphs have a particular phallic imagery that makes it uneasy for the viewers to look at. The underlying tone of its aliens instills a level of revulsion to its viewers. That's why I wanted to use the same concept to have the character the same impact.
