Weaving Iridescence - Vibrant Rainbow

In this project we learnt complex weave structures like multi-layer cloth, backed cloth, pile weaves and many more. Using these structures we had to translate our inspiration on a fabric. My inspiration was 'Iridescence in Nature' and for the second warp I decided to go out of my comfort zone and took the vibrant colors of fiery-throat-ed hummingbird as my inspiration.

Taking reference from the artworks, I used structures like double cloth and terry in different samples, to achieve the desired look. The materials used are 2/60s cotton for black warp and 2/60s art. silk for the colored warp.
