Radiant Light Paper Sliceform
The Radiant Light wall piece has two perspectives. When looked at from the side it only appears to have rows of walls and chambers. These represent obstacles within our society which an individual may be faced with or impacted by. These include violence, hatred, theft, love of money, drugs, alcohol, lust, pornography, pre-marital sex, divorce, etc.. As a person begins to break free of these things their perspective of life and the surrounding world begins to change. This is represented by moving from the side of the art piece towards the center, realizing the cross which begins to take shape.
Looking at the art piece from a front view represents a persons realization of Gods existence and the acceptance of this greater power into their life. The rays emerging from the cross represent Gods power and authority over everything in existence so that with him we can overcome all obstacles and struggles. This demonstrates my personal journey in life as I went from atheism to becoming a Christ follower at the age of 24. Since then I have been taking all necessary steps and overcoming lifes obstacles to gain a clear vision of what God expects of me as his follower. Its a challenging journey but, since that day my rewards have been quite astonishing.
