Decalcomania Textures Collection

What is decalcomania?

Derived from the French décalcomanie, decalcomania is a unique art technique of transferring pictures and designs from glass onto specially prepared paper.
How I made it

When creating amazing textures for this set, I used gouache, watercolor, crayons and titanium white. I mixed all these on a glass plate and then pressed A5 paper to it. The glass was used here like a stamp.

As an artist, I love bright colors and always use them in my works. I believe life should be colorful and vivid, like a rainbow. :) What inspires me the most is springtime when even dull, grey and sleepy shades of the world around us awake to burst with motion, strength and life again.
Post-processing: High resolution with optimal size

All textures were scanned with a high-end Epson scanner using 1200 dpi resolution. Then I did a bit of post-processing, including color correction. Small image artifacts are retouched. After that, all images were scaled to 5000 px on the larger side (smaller side varies) and resolution 300 dpi. Using this method, I achieved excellent quality without blowing the file size up.
How decalcomania textures can be used

These textures can help you add a unique feeling to any kind of art work. The possibilities are limitless – let your imagination lead the way!

Here’s some examples of usage:
