As the WW2 generation are dying out, memories are kept alive by post war generation of re-enactors.

Like many of my generation I was saturated with WW2, growing up on a diet of war films, books, comics, toys and grand parents first hand stories .All these elemnets permeated into my imagination, installing a sense of Britishness, stoicism and eccentricity. 
The photographs are inspired by cinematic moments frozen in time.

People from all walks of life suddenly become actors in self built WW2 stage sets  .Their obsession and dedication to authenticity often culminates in work for TV and film. As a side line part of the project I've quietly immersed myself into each photo shoot, like many turning full circle.
