Brainwave Identity

BRIEF
We were told to come up with a futuristic device idea that could enhance human abilities. After we got our idea we were to then design a logo, advertisement, packaging and an instruction sheet. My device was a headband that could be worn to enhance and stimulate brain activity when you're stuck for ideas, hence the name Brainwave.

During the logo design process, I experimented with a number of different ideas but ended up sticking with a simple head silhouette with a wave graphic that resembles the shape of a brain. The advert I wanted to keep simple and relatable, showing a scrunched up piece of paper and a broken pencil with the slogan written simply at the bottom of the page. When I was designing the packaging I wanted to keep it quite fun, while also keeping with the geometric shapes that I started in the advert. The exterior of the package is monochromatic and dull, but bursts with colour upon opening. The information design we were encouraged to use just graphics and no words to show the user how to use the product.

Initial Moodboards
The first focuses mainly on very futurustic design, whereas the second is more of the design language that I wanted.

Final Documentation
This was submitted with the Assessment. I pulled certain elements from my design and used them throughout the documentation, such as the geometric shapes and the custom typography.
