'Heart of Asia' brings the viewers away on a sensory journey through the vibrant streets of Taipei. Amidst the bustling chaos, a chance encounter unfolds a love story is born. Hand in hand, the narrator and their soulmate explore the labyrinth of night markets, their laughter harmonizing with the city's pulse. Through intimate moments, they connect on a deeper level, transcending time and space. With heartfelt gratitude to Taiwan, this video celebrates the magic of love found in unexpected places, immortalized in the streets of Taipei.
This personal project was shot in partnership with DZO Film with the Pavo 2x Anamorphic lenses & Sigma FP camera in BRAW paired with Blackmagic video assist 7’. Video edited in Davinci Resolve and color graded with Dehancer. The lenses are S35 but cover Full frame 16x9 + border crop to come back to a 21x9 ratio. (No open gate FF)
It’s also super light for a 2x anamorphic as it’s only 1.2kg for the lense. When you pair it with a 400g full frame camera (the fp) you can easily put it on a gimbal and still feel it lightweight.
I loved the look it gives with big barrel distortion and oval bokeh, I used it mostly fully wide open at T2.1 which is a bit too soft sometimes but perfect when you close a bit. Some shots were with PrismLensFX Halo FX filter.
