My returning client Nutriseed reached out to me to breathe life into a new product range of theirs: Collagen, Turmeric and Ginger shots. Right from our first project together featuring Nutriseed’s fresh juices, we’d created a distinctive photographic style for the brand. And now it was time to extend this to a small but mighty addition to their product range.

These bottles are tiny! For the hero angle shots, I utilised a short focal-length lens to create a warped perspective of the miniscule packaging. It’s a Canon EF 28mm F.2.8 I scored on eBay a few years back. Although tempting to stick with this approach lens-wise, I didn’t want this content range to present an overall vision of the product from an exaggerated perspective. The remainder I shot with my well-used and much loved Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM. I swear by this lens, and I rave about it and my other go-to product photography equipment here, if you’re curious. Or even if you're not; I’m just trying to fulfil my internal links goal for SEO purposes.

As with our previous projects, the product inside the packaging was of utmost importance and a time-sensitive material. Nutriseed sent these juices to my studio, as they do for all customers, in a temperature controlled manner with strict instructions from the courier to deliver that day. Once in my hands the sooner I shoot, the more vibrant these fresh juice shots would be.

I considered spraying these small juice shots to simulate condensation, as I have done for Nutriseed’s juice range. After a quick test shot, I ruled this out: The much smaller detail on the label soon became warped beyond legibility through moisture droplets.
