I've included this project as a completed work; in reality, it's probably best categorized as practice, as it's rather sloppy, especially compared to the precison of vectorized work. Such are the perils of hand work on a tiny canvas. (the finished panel is barely 9 inches square)  If I were attempting this again, I'd give myself more breathing room on a larger canvas. I'd also choose more precise tools.
Preliminary preparation & sketching. These were drawn in pencil and later inked.

I was able to get a high level of precision with the black pigment liner pens, but even the finest gold pens were clunky to work with, and tended to blotch.

I experimented with a number of different pens, and although I enjoy the Copic Brush Pens a great deal, this panel was too small to use them. I wound up using a Prismacolor Brush Pen, and even that was too large, requiring outlining with the Pigment Liner (0.1).
