Junior Economics Society (MSU-IIT) Brand Identity

Junior Economics Society is an organization from Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology. This organization is composed of students from the courses of BSBA - Business Economics and BS - Economics.
Their organization wanted a modern, unique, and corporate brand that shouts the identity of being an economist student.
The challenge of making the logo for their branding is that the typical symbol of economics is limited to the very overused logomark which is the bar graph and arrow. What I did to overcome this problem was to incorporate elements that shouts the vision of the organization.

In making the identity of their brand, I wanted to really elevate the idea of JES as an organization that produces strong, reliable, competent, and effective future economists.
For their brand merch, I went with a modern and an urban-looking style that incorporates economic symbols. I was able to convey their brand identity by using strong, bold, and sharp elements.

When I designed the merch, my thought process was that I want the person wearing the shirt to really feel that they are apart of the organization. I purposely made a minimal looking pocket design at the front which is directly positioned towards the wearer's heart area. I also made the design to shout "EKONOMISTA" to really give emphasis towards their identity being in the organization.
