Chao Pescao is one of the projects that really jump-started my journey in hand lettering. For this project, we were asked to letter a short phrase in another language. (Chao Pescao translates to “Bye Fish” or “Bye Fishy.” It’s a Spanish equivalent to “See ya later, Alligator.”) We started writing the phrase in several styles and pieced them together. From there, the lettering we did was enlarged, and we transferred them onto the larger paper and inked them.
