At Buzz Creative Spaces we designed a unique sensory space for a Primary School in Yorkshire, using a wide range of different materials. The brief for this project was to create a sensory and spiritual space that could be used by all age groups.
Buzz Creative Spaces designed a sensory space that included:
- Hand forged metal "Tree of Life" sculpture centre piece, that was designed for hanging thoughts and prayers on.
- Decorative cobble circle set around the "Tree of Life" sculpture.
- Resin bound gravel paths in contrasting colours of gold and terracotta. Large stepping stones lead children though the space to social seating areas with nature inspired totem poles.
- Large colour panels of transparent acrylic set between wooden posts. The panels overlap at various viewing points to create a rainbow of colours.
- Social seating area of attractive cast stone block which are inlaid with a mosaic panel, inspired by children's drawings.
- Sleeper seats which are made of upended timber sleepers which are installed to provide a cluster of seating.
- Planters which will feature sensory plants to add colour, smell and texture to the garden.
- Outdoor mirror panels that reflect light, colour and movement. They will also add the illusion of space.

- Artificial grass provides the school with a low maintenance surfacing which looks very natural. The artificial grass is soft and tactile and eliminates muddy areas.
