BEAR CLOTHING UK

Bear Clothing UK is a new fashion apparel brand in the United Kingdom,
presenting themselves as a manly brand.
They were looking for a new Visual Identity, an image that could be reflected as both sophisticated and humorous, in a minimalistic, flat style kind way.
This project had no really limitations in terms of briefing, they were really open minded about the project, The only really requirement was, as the Brand name suggests, the implementation of a bear. It could be personalized with some apparel accessories such as an hat or a scarf, glasses or other type of elements or not. Our choice.
What do we seek as clothing buyers?

We seek combination, personalization, options to our style needs and variety  of choice to fit those same purposes.

Instead of developing a static logo with a bear wearing an hat or other type of accessory, why not create a brand fitting these same purposes of choice, personalization, combination reflecting both sophisticated and humorous styles and forms?

So, our concept and project direction was:

The development of a main logo, this logo would reflect the sophisticated part of the Brand, whether would you use it in a more serious note or not, this logo would represent Bear Clothing UK as the core of their identity.
What would give it personalization and combination, would be the set of icons that we developed as complement to this logo. This set was presented in a variety of apparel accessories, such as hats, glasses and even a little extra personalization touch, mustaches. This would also take care of the light-hearted humorous part.

In terms of forms to personalize and customize the main logo their were no major limitations. But for now, we just created the first icons to be applied.

In the end, this purpose ended up not being accepted. But we still thought that it was a good project to just let go and not trying to publish it in a way.
So, instead of simulating the Brand with several graphic supports such as business cards, envelopes, letterheads, we decided to make self-promotion material out of it.
This time around, we used silkscreen as the print technique and used 3 different graphic supports:
A set of 8 different illustrations in a 8,5 x 5,5 cm business card support, 3 different flyers and even a 50 x 70 cm poster with both logos and icons on it.
Here we present the logo, the icons, the several graphic supports and even the silkscreen process. Hope you enjoy.
