Tile & Pattern Design

Tile and Pattern Design Project
Tile 1:
For the first tile I wanted to keep it simple and get a feeling for how to create a design that looked good and worked well together even though the shapes aren't that complicated. I used aspects from three of the four references I picked taking the middle star shape that I was really drawn to, the square and circle shape that is outlining the star and the interweaving aspect flower shape in the corners.
Tile 2:
For the second tile I went with more complex and harder shapes in my design, as can be seen with the crown that I used 8 times in the middle part and inter-weaving corner parts of the tile. I also created the simple fleur de-Lis shape that is outside of the crowns in the middle. I used parts from 3 of the 5 sources to create the tile, the center star shape, the crown which I based the design around, the fleur de-Lis and the yellow outlined shapes that resemble the feathers of a peacock.
