Passive House
Location: Helsingborg, Sweden
The Concept of this design based on natural shelters, from the beginning of civilization, people seek shelter in various forms. It can be tree or cave or anything where not only human but also animal can find themselves protected. Here, the cold climate is such an important and sensitive issue. A parallel was drawn to natural shelters from the surrounding, harsh weather conditions. The early concept was to mimic naturally occurring shelters by introducing giant planes to the site, which would create voids in between them. These voids could then be filled with volumes functioning as residential housing units.
