Designing with Letters and Glyphs
Left: Sans-Serif (Neue Haas Grotesque Bold)
Right: Serif (Stemple Garamond Roman)
Designing letters/glyphs is a project for Art 230. Doing this project was a great learning experience through using letters and numbers for designing compositions. Through sketching, digitally altering, then refining, I was able to make interesting designs using just a variety of characters and shapes. Below are my two pieces using sans-serif and serif characters for digital compositions.
Sans-serif design with the letters: "B, m, t, i, w" and the number: "3" in a Neue Haas Grotesque Bold font.
Serif design using the letters: "E, O, m, k, j" and the numbers "1 and 2" in a Stemple Garamond Roman font.
