RLMC#104 - Skateboard.
Part 1. The poster image. (See Part 2 for the animation)
The Rocketlasso slack has several challenges throughout the year including weekly sketching, modelling and chain projects.
This is my submission to the March challenge: RLMC#104 - Skateboard.
Deliveries were an animation no longer than 10 seconds and a poster image.
All at 1080x1350 pixels.
The animation idea was pretty simple. An empty pool and a lone skateboard flies into the blue sky and then something something happens to the board. Should it be dripping? be on fire? blow up like a balloon?
And while doing some rough thumbnails and considering other ideas for the animation I spent some time on the parts for the board: trucks, wheels, nut and bolts and the wood board itself.
I also "branded" the trucks with HEC76. Partly to date it but also to work out the geometry. Part of the fun is to create the story behind the product. Making a whole brand that could have existed at the time so "HECATON INDISTRIES, Advanced DROID & LANDMATES Dept." became it this time around.
A simple wood board, basic metals (not to worn) and graphics for the wheels.
