Independent Production Project (Dissertation)
The Fire Mamma
(February 2020)
The aim of the project was to produce the following:
- 10 minute documentary
- 1 minute trailer
- written production journal
The documentary is about Sarah Harman, founder of the Fire School, and Abby Furness, one of the school's dragons.
Equipment used: Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro 4.6K, Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, LED light panel, GoPro Hero 7.
A lot of the footage is shot at 60 FPS or 90 FPS to better capture the shapes created by the fire.
Filming at the Fire School required a 3 person crew, operating two cameras on either rolling spiders or a gimbal.
