The Palm Islands resort complex (Jumeirah, Jebel Ali and Deira) in Dubai are artificial islands comprised of over 100 million cubic feet of rock and sand, each in the shape of an enormous palm tree. My proposed design for the brand mark evokes the Palm Island experience at the human level. An abstraction of the meeting of sky, sea and sand, the mark represents some of the largest human structures in history (best appreciated from orbit) while also echoing the simplest of traces, a human fingerprint.
