Vintage Bee Traveling Espresso Branding

Vintage Bee Traveling Espresso
The client came to me with the name, and wanting a "vintage" or "old" look, as well as a "queen" bee, possibly drinking some coffee and surrounded by a wreath.

I started my research with vintage style illustrations of coffee plants and bees to get a feel for the style the client was looking for.
Through some trial and error, we landed on one bee and a branch instead of a wreath for something with some more movement. Once these were digitized, colors came into the mix. The client was very firm on butter yellow and teal so some options were created and rejected in favor of grey and black line work and white fill on the butter yellow with teal text.
The modern calligraphy was chosen from several options by the client to continue the "vintage" feel of the brand.
After changing hands, the company has been significantly expanded with forays into merchandise and larger quantities of cold brew coffee. For use on merchandise, the logo was simplified to allow for various types of printing or embossing. A new slogan was also incorporated into this expansion.
