NeoChord DS1000
Minimally Invasive Mitral Valve Repair Instrument
The NeoChord DS1000 is the flagship device for the start-up medical device company NeoChord. Used to tame a condition called mitral valve regurgitation, the device is the first of its kind to enable surgeons to repair the chordae tendoni of the heart's mitral valve in a way that's minimally invasive and performed while the heart is still beating. The method was invented by Dr. Giovanni Speziali and Dr. Richard Daly, two visionary cardiac surgeons. We were hired by NeoChord and the Mayo Clinic to help them to commercialize the DS1000, refine the user interaction, and to give the device an iconic visual identity.
