"What you don't know could fill a book", That was the phrase our teacher used to describe this project, a simple premise where in we designed a cover for a book with no content, a reflection of the earlier phrase. I decided to make a cover for a non fiction book about monsters under the bed, and here is what I got.

The red eyes in a black and white picture (of my bed to be specific) was easy enough to pull off, the real problem was the body copy on the back, the stripes of the bed cover drew the eyes away and made it hard to read. Some experimenting later I found that semi transparent boxes solved this issue without being too much of a distraction from the background.

The picture of myself and the author biography was my favorite part. I feel the author picture and how the biography included on the back of most novels is written tells a lot about the author beyond what is actually said. Books with the more creative and fun biography's I have come to enjoy more than others.
