This is an email I wrote last year at Elsevier, a major medical publishing company. It is intented to offer first-year medical students a discount on textbooks to help them in their studies. The key challenge of the first year of medical school is often likened to being tasked with eating five pancakes a day. As long as you keep up, you're fine; but if you don't eat your pancakes on one particular day, the next day there are ten pancakes waiting for you. And so on. This email plays off that metaphor.
