While working at Yggdrasil Gaming's Lab I have led the Bingo project from early concept to start of development, when it was taken over by a PO and a dev team.

Some of my duties included:
– Creating a business case
– Managing the project
– UX and UI design

Our main idea was to emphasize social features and make the app accessible and user friendly. The project was eventually cancelled at very late development phase.
Our research showed that although Bingo players have embraced mobile, their activities on chat has subsequently dropped. Since Bingo is a very social game, we inferred that the drop could be caused by usability issues of existing apps.

Competitor analysis has confirmed that. Bingo apps were frozen in time and were mostly impossible to interact with.

We decided to put the chat experience front and center by allowing the players to use a very intuitive set of pre-defined chat messages.
Some bonus goodies examples:
Simplified chat options:
Extended chat options:
We also tried to transplant the successful features of F2P Bingo apps into the real money setting. The math did seem to work without huge impact on player experience.
We also tried to cross sell into our other products – here's an idea to put Slots into Bingo as a mini game. Slots UI design provided by Edisonda.
