In 2013 Spinifex was engaged to create a projection mapping experience for New Balance, as part of the MRL996 launch party in Beijing, China. With a 3-metre long sculpture of the new sneaker as the primary canvas, the brief was to celebrate the last 4 decades of the New Balance range, by taking the audience on a powerful retrospective journey through time. By projecting on and around the shoe, we transformed the stage into disco, pop art, 80's retro, pacman, and robotic environments. The result was a fun, dynamic and surprising journey, resulting in a memorable launch party, excited audiences, and a very happy client.
