The goal of this project was to summarize a story (or at least the important parts) in one looping GIF. I decided to illustrate the fairytale Rumpelstiltskin. Working with an existing story allowed for really fun personal interpretations and experimentation with format.

I had initially planned to represent the narrative in multiple scenes instead of one with a border, but the single scene was something I was more excited to draw - it also was a more appropriate amount of work for my deadline.

Below are some of my very loose sketches of initial ideas, as well as my first rough pass of the final GIF.
