Egyptian Gods (Ongoing)

Egyptian Gods Project
I started this because I was a little at a loss for inspiration. I've got some plans for my Silent World images, and I've just found a set of images that I can use for some art based on my books, but at the time I was slightly running out of ideas (I've bought Flame Painter now so that should keep me going for a while!)
Thoth - Homecoming
This image is called Homecoming -- it wasn't a deliberate start to a project -- some mentions of Thoth came up elsewhere in my life and I decided to run with it. I also bought a wonderful image of a suit on (an image bank, I can't remember which one!) that I wanted to use. It ended up being a lot more forlorn than I'd intended. Thoth, having returned from a life of information systems and world wide travel to find his temple in ruins.
Ra
The next one is Ra -- I'm not very happy with this one, but oddly, it got the best reaction from all the groups I showed it to.
Isis
In contrast to Ra, I'm really happy with this one, and it only got a very luke warm reception. I like how the light has come out though, and I think it all manages to look very natural despite being very, very manipulated indeed.
Sekhmet
The latest is Sekhmet. My favorite story about Sekhmet is that she once flew into such a rage that Thoth had to convince her an ocean of beer was blood so that she'd drink it and not destroy the human race.
Anubis
The next one I did was Anubus -- I think this one came out better than any of them since Isis (although, Thoth is arguably the best of the bunch). The difficulty of finding a stock image holding a set of scales was obvious, so instead I found this image of a model reaching down, and put the scales on the floor.
Horus
The first of two falcon headed gods -- I think I've ended up making this one look like the cover of a 1970s paperback, which I quite like, but wasn't at all what I started out intending. This one uses a background by Phillip Capper, and the original photograph was an abandoned mission church in Whakatane, in the Bay of Penty region. The source image can be found here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/flissphil/2386162551
Khonsu
For the second Falcon Headed God, say hello to Khonsu. I made him partly to play with Flame Painter 4, which was immense fun, and some new distortion resources I've bought (I really shouldn't be left alone with money...).
Bast
This is probably the one I'm most likely to recreate. I like everything but the cat head -- I was desperate for an Abyssinian, but I couldn't get a good source image and my modifications haven't quite worked out. Still, here we are, Bast, cat Goddess of protection who defends the king from Apep!
