WPA Inspired Park and Historic Site Posters

I have been trying to think of a fun project to keep my mind stimulated and remembered that I love the style of the posters created by the Works Progress Adminstration in the 1930s and 1940s. It's a beautiful and simple style and allows me to play with vector illustration.

I had intended to create posters for fictional locations, but became easily sidetracked and made some for historic sites in Japan. There is no end to beautful destinations I can advertise for and that will allow me to keep this project going for awhile. For now, I intend to expand this page and create a new poster for a UNESCO World Heritage Site on a regular basis.
Himeji Castle located in the Hyōgo Prefecture of Japan. One of the most famous castles built in Japan due to its beauty and its occupation by the shogun Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
The GeoFront from the Japanese series Neon Genesis Evangelion. In the series, the GeoFront is a cavity under the Earth's crust where the vanguard of humanity has retreated to fight back against a mysterious enemy. The buildings are normally above ground, but can retract into the cavity if there is impending danger. Gah, I am a dork~
Itsukushima located in the Hiroshima Prefecture of Japan. The island is famous for its torii gate that appears to float. The shrine is said to be one of the three most beautiful views in Japan.
