The prompt for this project was to create an identity for a company or person. I chose to create an identity for a small-town newspaper. The lighthouse design is based off a lighthouse in my hometown of Brookline, New Hampshire. As this is a small-town newspaper, I wanted it to be a design that would already be recognizable to the audience. The black and white design, newspaper print on the letterhead, business card and envelope and the font used are reminiscent of a classic newspaper design, but the added interest of the lighthouse makes the design unique. The box design on the bottom of the letterhead and the envelope also recall the black and white feel of a newspaper, but are a unique flare to the design and identity of this particular, small-town paper.
