This work is based on photographs from a trip I took earlier this year to Texas with friends. With the drastic changes that have happened to all of our lives, trips and simple excursions have become movie like, almost fiction. While making this piece, I was inspired by Basma Alsharif, a film director from Kuwait who uses moving and still images to explore the anonymous individual in relation to political history and collective memory. “Basma has never called a geographical space home.
