At Splinter Design we were commissioned by BBC Bitesize to create a set of games all about dinosaurs and science! Using dinosaurs to demonstrate a range of scientific testing methods, we utilised a range of fun game mechanics to enhance the educational content.
Working with my colleagues at Splinter, I developed concepts and game designs. I was also responsible for illustrating the dinosaurs, their environments and anything inbetween!

Game Design
I sketched out simple storyboards, outlining the play through of each game.
Character Design
Collaborating with an expert on dinosaurs, I illustrated an array of dinosaurs that were accurate (as far as we know)! and visually appealing to the target audience (5-7 year olds).
Hub
Focussing on 5 main dinosaurs, the games were housed in a main hub screen, spanning both the Cretaceous and Jurassic periods. Users selected a dinosaur to start a game. After each game the user was awarded a sticker which appeared in their 'Dino Stickerbook' - tapping these stickers would reveal a fun reward animation.
