Inspiration behind the logo.
The inspiration behind the logo came from many aspects. The name of the company comes from the last few letters of my last name. I played off that, and thought a leaf would also be good to incorporate into the logo based on the mission of the company.
I spent a long time getting feedback from friends, professors, and most importantly my family. This brand identity is for my family company we're about to launch, so it was very important to me that I get feedback from them to make sure they were happy with the results.
The original ideas were just brainstormed sketches and possible paths for the logo to go down. After consulting with friends and professors, I came up with the second ideas and that is when I presented these ideas to my family.
One great detail my family members suggested was to make the leaf on the "i" a copper beech tree leaf. On the property of my childhood home lives the largest copper beech tree in my county. It is a very important tree to my family and it seemed fitting.
Because of their constructive feedback, the third logo ideas came to fruition. After many changes to typography, color schemes, and layout, based on the company goals and values, I finally had my final logos. From there it was quite easy to create the letterhead, business card, and apparel.
