Above shows the 2009 NBA Finals Collection. The top graphic in the black section is the conference champions graphic and the two graphics below are used for after market purposes. To the right side you will see these graphics applied onto the head wear silhouettes. The top middle section is the actual NBA Champions head wear piece worn by the team, on the night the Los Angeles Lakers won. This hat was unique from previous years, because of silhouette, fabrics and use of applications on front graphics. It demonstrated a special lifestyle and wearable look, which attracted many NBA and Lakers consumers.
Above shows some of the initial graphic concepts for 2010 Conference Champions and Champions head wear. On the right side you can see I experimented with new graphic compositions for the conference champions graphic. I wanted to emphasize the team logo as a main feature and having the conference champions graphic as secondary element with unique print application. Above shows the 2010 NBA Champions and Conference Champions head wear.  The graphics on the right are assuming if the Lakers and or Celtics win in the finals. The actual head wear piece worn on the night the Lakers won the Championship, is the head wear piece on top middle. The graphic is shown on the far left side, third one from the top. I did not use the official team logo. The team graphic shown is inspired by the championship banner displayed in the Staples Center.
The Conference Head wear piece was modified for 2010. As a group we decide put out a head wear piece that promotes team awareness in the NBA finals, opposed to a Conference Champions head wear piece.
The bottom row of head wear are after market champions graphics. These domestically embroidered graphics are placed on in-stock blanks and serve a purpose to chase incremental business after the NBA finals are finished.
