Distant Dinner

The biggest challenge for us in self-isolation is not being able to gather, especially on Easter weekend. Every year at this time we look forward to sitting at the extra-long family table and passing the ham and scalloped potatoes back and forth, and sharing the excitement of spring. Like most of you, we’ve discovered the experience of virtual gathering – the awkward and chaotic but hilarious and heartwarming cocktail hour or birthday party. This series is about this new conviviality, and the feeling of being separated but joined through our screens, by social media challenges, and shared balcony applause.

We’re all in this together. Happy Easter.
Our screens have long been windows looking out on the world around us, suddenly now they're also looking in. We're amazed by how connected we've been able to remain in self-isolation, and by how vital our virtual connections have suddenly become. We had a lot of fun producing these images by ourselves, at home, but we can't wait to get back to creative collaboration and family gatherings. In the meantime, we'll see each other through the window.
