Learning 3D - Blender 2.8x

Learning Blender - from absolute scratch.

As a long time 2D graphic artist with a huge interest in sci fi and technology, I decided this would be an absolutely amazing opportunity to learn Blender 2.8 and expand my horizons into the 3rd dimension.

My previous knowledge of Blender was exceptionally limited, only occasionally using other's project files to grab a game character in a pose I couldn't find elsewhere.

I stumbled across the Youtuber Ducky3D and have been working through his tutorials and creating my own variations of the work he puts up - and it has helped me improve tremendously, to the point where I'm confident I can tackle my own projects.

These were my first 2 renders, essentially directly copied from Ducky3D's tutorial.
I moved through a couple tutorials without attempting too much of my own flair, just to get a grip on the software and familiarize myself with the different workflow
From there I moved through a couple of his randomly allocating emission tutorials and created my own scene.
I absolutely loved this loop tutorial and so played around with settings and created my own versions.
I then went through his abstract line loop tutorial, and ended up with something similar to his initial design.
Next I tackled his sci fi wave loop, learning to animate across paths and using the decimate modifier.
I then tackled his retro loop but instead decided to take my own approach, animating my own logo into the scene and messing around with the compositing to look like an old TV
After that I decided to give a still render a try, adding my own elements to his sci fi tunnel tutorial, including spending a couple hours attempting to replicate a Vex Portal from the Destiny franchise (and bonus points for the Saint-14 in front of it)
I went through another sci fi tunnel loop and followed it to the tee, adding a slight amount of rotation and ending up with a really cool looping animation.
I then dived into his older sci fi landscape tutorial, replicating his inital design with minor changes, and then starting from scratch to try create my own version. The animation was done in Eevee and rendered at 25% as I wanted to carry on with more renders and not wait 100 years :P
Finally I attempted to use the RandoMesh addon to get some form of dark sci fi human portraits, essentially copying the work of Mantissa.xyz, the creator of RandoMesh. I added in my own attempts at some animation, however they need some work still.
I then used the above effect in combination with some randomly assigned emission shaders to achieve a sort of "Festive Skull" look.
I used the same addon to create myself a couple assets that I used as the basis for my charity stream graphics
I decided to learn some form of particle system, and so I added an emissive cube and scaled it down to create some epic effects.
I then messed around with some displacement modifiers mapped to other objects to achieve a strange organic meteor effect
I love a good science fiction item and so I created these renders to sort of show off this anomaly type design
Another sci fi type render - definitely my favourite type of render.
Followed a tutorial for a black hole render and ended up with these 2 shiny bois
This concludes my current venture into the world of 3D and video effects. I will update this post with newer renders as I work through them.
