Old Pulteney, The Maritime Malt, asked WIRE to develop a Christmas campaign to encourage purchase of their whiskies – particularly the 12-year-old expression – in the run up to and during the festive period.

Having recently relaunched its range, the brand wanted something that felt fresh for its first nationwide seasonal campaign in a= number of years. And because the whisky's core consumer is a repertoire malt drinker, it needed to ensure brand recall.

Old Pulteney needed to come to mind first when shoppers were faced with a shelf of seemingly similar products while picking up a loved one's Christmas present. Our task was simple, but the solution was anything but.

It’s extremely hard for whisky to gain cut-through during this period, and even more so with the gin boom squashing shelf space for single malts. We knew whatever we did needed to stand out within the category.

Utilising Old Pulteney's brand assets, I delivered the design of this multi-channel campaign.
