Positive and Negative Space

For this project, students were instructed to draw multiple compositions of a still life consisting of multiple chairs and various objects. Following the thumbnail process, students were instructed to only draw the outline of the objects, focusing on sight measuring and accurate proportion. I then filled in the outlines of the objects with Black acrylic paint, creating a sharp contrast between positive and negative space.
