La Serena School for Data Science began as an activity focused on astronomical data. It has evolved to become a school that brings together students from diverse backgrounds around the data and techniques of astronomy, but also from other disciplines like life sciences.

The poster illustration is based on image references related to inverse problems, wave propagation and tomography. The type of color gradients used in many references is used here to project the letters "I" and "P" (from Inverse Problems) strongly abstracted, as a sort of subtle visual joke.
