MonstaMouth: Worldwide BBQ  (July 2019)
My very first vector illustration from conception to end product. My client is a food vendor that specializes in BBQ's from all over the world. I was commissioned to create an illustrated logo specifically for vehicle wrapping purposes.
This was the original brief given to me. A salivating monster mouth with a chicken drumstick. The original design was rejected because the composition did not translate very well. I've personally advised my client against it because I believed that the salivating mouth already depicts "tasty". The client agreed with me and accepted the salivating monster mouth on its own. As all ideas do, it evolved...
After a couple of brainstorming sessions, we have decided to take the concept further. We have decided on a mascot with utensils to represent the company as a brand. The first character design was approved and digitizing the concept ensued.
From a scanned image with only the bare basic line-work done with fine-liners and light pencil shading to a fully vectorized product for the very first time in a foreign program, Adobe Illustrator. I was given artistic freedom with only a few colour requests. This gave me room to play and discover. Needless to say, the client was blown away by the end result. I would lie if I said I wasn't impressed by the end result myself.
The client went further on and requested banners with the company name. The font and banner style was a non negotiable request on the client's side. I created a holding shape with both banners. This is the final product to be used for branding.
