Continuing my Terraform series, this piece is focused on the recent bushfires near my home in Melbourne Australia. For this project I travelled to the site of the recent East Gippsland fires and shot material of the regrowth happening there.
In particular, I was interested in the regrowth that shoots off gum trees - this vibrant red growth that kind of resembles flames itself.
This project took the form of an echidna, something I've been wanting to make for some time now.
The title, Tjirilya, is the word for echidna in some of the Anangu languages indigenous to Western Australia.
