Another year, another series of mixes.
I threw another late-winter curveball after my holiday 2019 mix with my short, 6-track mid-February mix for everyone who needed it.
I curated a bunch of wistful, "let's get out of this town"-themed songs, ranging from synthpop to '77-style punk rock, and threw them together with some cover artwork drawing inspiration from 1980's shoegaze and pop music, as well as contemporary photography taken at shopping malls from the 1980's.
And in light of the current social and public health situation, I released what would have been my Summer 2020 mix early, around mid-March, to friends via social media.
What better way to celebrate the end of the world than dancing to 60's soul and reggae.
2020 certainly tried to play chicken with all of us, and as a result, many of us (myself included) were pretty wiped out for various reasons. I compiled a tentatively final mix toward the end of the year, taking us into a very, very uncertain future.
