For as infuriating as the bone tool is, I'm proud I was able to at least use it well enough that the bones on screen didn't completely freak out beyond repair. this entire project was a learning experience, as I'd never used the bone tool successfully before. and for as messy as this one is, I'd still call it a successful attempt at using to bone tool in Animate.
