A personal project, I was so inspired by whimsical spirit of Brian Rea's "Death wins a goldfish", that my mind was swimming with idea and one just kept floating to the top and inorder to move on I just had to make this one little story. 

The idea of a journey kept coming up, and I had this cute bird in my sketch book with a top hat and tie, which made me think of a bird and the migrations that they make.  I later made the connection to humans that make their own migrations in the form of vacations and road trips. My grandmother had tenents in the basement that were "Snow Birds" who always flew away from our cold canadian winters to Arizona.  How similar those two stories seem to align.  So I wrote a practically wordless picture book that marries together a bird migration and human road trip.
