StaND Against Hate
This project originally began as a class assignment for the AIGA Blue Ridge Clash Poster Contest. The theme of the contest was Unity, but my professor added that the "unity" must relate to civil rights. I chose to focus on the Day of Silence, a national silent protest movement against harassment of the LGBTQ community. The act of being silent is symbolic of the silence forcefully imposed on LGBTQ persons. Eventually, my image was used in the StaND Against Hate Week campaign at the University of Notre Dame, which included posters, shirts for the Day of Silence, and pins.
