Saudade
I'm so happy and proud to have been part of the first ever all female mural festival organized by the amazing @ladieswhopaint. Making history with a team of wonderful, talented, bad-ass women in one of those experiences you never forget: an intense week of hard work (10 murals painted by 10 ladies in 5 days) and great times.
For the theme of the mural I wanted to bring something of my culture, so I decided to paint a huge SAUDADE, a word that only exists in Portuguese and is very dear and meaningful to me. Legibility is hard in this composition but that is the purpose and concept of it: SAUDADE is such a tangle of happy and sad emotions that pervade each other, as the letters do in the mural.
