Netflix Series Stars Michelle Monaghan of Mission: Impossible Fame
Focused recently on long-form streaming series, producer David Nicksay has been a presence in Hollywood since the 1970s. One of David Nicksay’s latest projects is Messiah, a 10-episode thriller that premiered on Netflix on January 1, 2020.
The plot revolves around Al Masih (played by Mehdi Dehbi), a mysterious man whose followers claim he is the Messiah, a salvation figure in Judaism. Investigating him is CIA agent Eva Geller, portrayed by Michelle Monaghan, who has appeared in dozens of films and television series since 2000. Ms. Monaghan was in two Mission: Impossible movies, playing opposite Tom Cruise.
The actress was born in Iowa in 1976. Before leaving college, she earned her keep modeling and was seen in many international fashion shows and magazines. She considered becoming a journalist but chose acting instead.
Ms. Monaghan became nationally known for her role as Kimberly Woods for one season of the TV series Boston Public, having also been featured in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Later, she co-starred with Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer in the darkly humorous film, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
Of Irish-German descent, she earned a Class A license for 18-wheelers in preparation for the 2008 film Trucker. Ms. Monaghan is married to graphic designer Peter White, whom she knew for five years after meeting him in New York City.
