For years, the Caucasian Leopard was considered extinct from Armenia, since there were no more leopards left in the country, mostly due to migration patterns and excessive hunting.

In the past few yeas, a few of these leopards have returned to Armenia, and the country is making a lot of effort to keep them safe and IN Armenia, and that's why the Ministry of Environment named the year 2019 after the Caucasian Leopard.
