I’ve never shot mountain biking. Now that I think about it, I’ve never even seen a live mountain bike race before. So the Canada Cup – Mont Tremblant of 2013 was my first. A baptism of fire.
Tremblant was packed. Is that place ever dead ? I couldn’t believe how many people were there. Some for the race, but I think most were just tourists. Not having a clue as to where I should go, I just started hiking up the mountain until I hit forest.. Setup my flashes and just started shooting. In the end, I think I came out OK. With mountain biking, it appears you have time to setup 3 times. So you can’t expect to cover a lot of area. The riders only come around a half dozen times or so. I was hoping to get a shot of them in the village, but that would have meant I would have missed a ton more shots.
The best part of the day was sitting in the woods in Spring and not being bit by a single bug !
