Ancient Aliens: Exploration of Racism in Architecture

This piece entitled "Ancient Aliens" is a surrealistic, interactive, mixed media ceramic sculpture which is designed to mock the racist trope that "ancient peoples outside of Europe needed aliens in order to develop". The sculpture operates by using primitively fired ceramic components, modernized Egyptian paste ceramic parts, and newer materials like epoxy and paint required to make the construction easier and faster

Full materials list: cardboard, acrylic paint, latex caulk, wood, aluminum wire, steel nails, red earth clay, recycled concrete sculpture head [from prior sculpture casting of mine that broke], Gorilla glue mixed with paint while raw, red earth Egyptian paste (cone 04 reclaimed earthenware waste/glaze waste + soda ash), recycled foam insulation, DAS paperclay, cyanoacrylate glue, carpenter's glue

Version pictured above was completed in Jan of 2020; possible updates may come

EDIT: for the record the piece is designed to have the ceramic ball pictured travel down the path and fall into the mouth, the second time I tested it I broke one of the pit fired dishes and until I have done a solid repair job I cannot fully demo it...I am considering posting a weak demo video in the future however of me guiding it by hand to keep the arm from re-breaking the dish
